Synopsis

This reader celebrates the life and work of Bob Marley, the Jamaica- born musical icon whose influence far outdistances his short life (he died in 1981 at age 36). Editor Bordowitz presents 20 selections from publications including The Village Voice, Billboard, and Rolling Stone, and includes an essay of his own (previously unpublished) to join writings by Alice Walker, Rita Marley, and Lester Bangs, among others.
